After meeting a few times through a mutual friend, Steven and Dorka found friendship (and ultimately love) during one unexpected youth group outing in 2011. Steven quietly proposed to Dorka in 2012 on a bridge in the middle of a quaint garden in Orlando before they actually first said “I do” in a private ceremony at the ages of 19 and 22. Since then, they’ve dreamt of having their dream wedding surrounded by their closest friends and family, all while building their careers and their dream home. The luxurious Ritz-Carlton Reserve Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico was the perfect venue to capture the beauty of the island for friends and family alike. Keep scrolling to see images captured by Kristen Weaver Photography of this gorgeous, celebrity-filled day planned with the help of Rae Nicole Events.

Floor-to-ceiling beach views

Puerto Rico is known for its lush jungles, island greenery and foliage alongside crystal clear beaches, all of which could be seen through the floor to ceiling windows surrounding the ballroom of The Ritz-Carlton Reserve Dorado Beach. Because Dorka is a celebrity makeup artist, A-list guests and Grammy nominated musicians made the guest list extra memorable. Among those in attendance were Bryiana Dyrdek (of Rob Dyrdek from MTV’s “Ridiculousness” and “Rob & Big”), Blanca (a Latin recording artist), and Yandel (a Latin pop star and label owner).

The perfect beachy dress code

While the couple opted for no wedding party, they did provide style guides to the guests that were designed and circulated on their wedding website. The guest attire was formal with varying shades of earth tones. Dorka’s closest gal pals were the perfect example in complimenting colors of greens, yellows, ambers, and tans.

A ceremony focal point

For the ceremony, Dorka wanted the view to feel complemented and not obstructed. The team at Nat Weddings created a focal structural piece that felt like it could be growing in El Yunque with clear chairs to see the view through. All of this was completed with a wild-inspired aisle runner.

Tropical fruit and floral accents

During the cocktail reception the Dorka and Steven wanted the bold colors provided by nature in the greenery and the beaches to be complimented, not distracted from. The team brought in all neutral and white pieces with touches of local island fruits, coconuts, and florals.

Garden-inspired centerpieces

For the reception, Rae Nicole Events brought the outdoor elements inside to create a fluid flow from ceremony and cocktails to reception. To do so, Nat Weddings focused on hanging foliage focal points and a floral structure outlining the couple’s table with a loose and wild foliage look to represent the wilder look of the lush PR jungles. All of this was complimented by the more sophisticated touches of garden inspired centerpieces, rented linens from La Tavola with a feature pattern, and table lamps.
