This New England-inspired editorial, designed by Britt Jones Co., serves as a reminder that a destination wedding doesn’t always have to mean jetting off to Europe – sometimes it means catching a ferry to the beautiful Martha’s Vineyard off the coast of Massachusetts. This inspo – photographed by Cora Jane Photography – combined the sophistication of a luxurious estate wedding with the breath-taking beauty of a coastal destination venue, using Watchmere Estate in Edgartown as the perfect venue. We promise you’ll want to keep scrolling to see the epitome of New England wedding luxury come to life.
Coastal envelope inserts
The invitation suite from Prettie Wedding Design included a coastal scene envelope insert and dainty blue and green palette to help secure the full Martha’s Vineyard aesthetic.
Seashell-inspired bridal style
The editorial featured two iconic dresses. The first, The Elle, was created by Wilden London with a cut that mimics a seashell shape as a nod to the coastal beauty of Martha’s Vineyard. This dress is cut from Moire silk with a halter-style bodice, puffball skirt, and hi-lo hem, making this an incredibly unique design for 2024 and 2025 brides.
Ruffle bow bridal details
The second dress, designed by Sebastien Luke, was an open-back beauty with a very different look than the first gown. This bridal style incorporated an ivory guipure lace with an elegant organza ruffle and playful chiffon bow details. Jen Lagers, a talented and internationally renowned hair and makeup artist, created two looks for the bride to match each dress seamlessly, while accessories from Chanel and Christian Dior completed the luxury looks.
For the groom: Classic navy and black
The groom’s attire from The Black Tux complemented both gowns with the first look incorporating a timeless black suit with black bowtie, while the second look was made up of a bright navy blazer with a black lapel and black bowtie.
Coastal elegance: Blue hydrangeas
For the florals by Morrice Florist, there was a natural gravitation towards incorporating both blue and white hydrangeas because would it truly be a coastal New England summer wedding without this? To complement the floral details, the bride’s bouquet was held together with flowing silk ribbon.
Custom lamp shades and sailboat seating
Custom painted lamp shades placed on the bar top with artwork specific to Martha’s Vineyard (think lighthouses, lobsters, landscape sketches, and sailboats), as well as the sweetest “Coastal Grandfather” drink, each detail was chosen as a nod to the venue and setting.
A wedding staple: The sailcloth tent
The tablescape had delicate pops of green incorporated in the floral-patterned plates, as well as hanging chandeliers from a sailcloth tent provided by Big Sky Tent and Party Rentals– a true Martha’s Vineyard staple when hosting an island event.
